These are unprecedented times we are in today. The world is in lock down, jobs are being lost all over the states, and the economy is on the verge of collapse. This isn't a plea for readership, this isn't a shameless plug for my books, this is simply me letting you all know that we will get through this, we will survive, and we will thrive as a people of this big old rock we call earth.

It seems that every generation is challenged with the threat of anarchy, chaos, and annihilation. Pandemics, Global War, Strife, Environmental Disasters, Prejudice, and Apathy threaten our very humanity on a seemingly regular basis, but we as a people are still here, we are still surviving, and we will continue to do so.

So keep your eyes on the bright horizon ahead because, no matter how bad things seem at the moment, a new day will dawn and we, as a people, will be stronger because of it. Stay happy, stay healthy, and stay sane!

Some of you may know this - especially those that have been supporting me from the beginning - but I am not that good at keeping up with the Website, with marketing, and with social media when I am in the middle of writing. I've been focusing my energies on the first draft of Book III since late April, so the rest has fallen off to the side. But as this is the beginning of my Birthday month (October 18th if you want to know), I have decided to surface from the world of Greenwood and live in the real world for a couple weeks to get some things done for the series (other than writing).

My greatest and humblest thank you to everyone who supported the marketing campaign over the last week and a half. You all have truly shown how important reading still is to the world. With your continued help and support, I know that the Shadowveil community will continue to grow.

For everyone who has downloaded Book I and/or Book II, I would like to implore you to take a few minutes of your time and leave a positive review at Amazon.com so that word can continue to spread. I will be doing more of these campaigns, specials, and deals as the months continue - as well as working on Book III. 

That's right, as of 2 weeks ago, pen has been put to paper for Book III; the outlines have been finalized, titles have been tossed around my inner circle, and the first chapter has been written. It is truly an exciting time for me as I can re-immerse myself into the aspect of being a writer that I cherish above all other parts: the first draft.

For me, the first draft is a place where no idea is too big or small, no word is incorrect, and exact formatting simply doesn't matter. Unlike all the subsequent drafts, edits, and revisions, the first draft is where I get to explore my characters and their world through the lens of the reader who is discovering the adventures of Theodulf and his friends for the first time. I get to be both observer and meddler, voyeur and confidante, and conductor and companion as I figure out what situations my characters have to face and see how each of them reacts and grows through it.

I don't want to give away too much at this stage, but I will whet your appetites with the following statement:
All of your questions in regards to Edward and Saba at the end of Book II will be answered in Book III - and that is just the beginning.

That's right, this Friday marks the official reveal of the cover art for THE PRINCES OF GREENWOOD! The third of the "Very Important Fridays" is upon us and this one is all about dates.

Firstly, as many of you have probably guessed, the last "Very Important Friday" will be the official release of Book II: The Princes of Greenwood. Starting at Midnight on September 23rd, The Princes of Greenwood will be available for download on your Amazon Kindle and your Kindle enabled devices. 

Secondly,  September 23rd will also be the first day that you can pre-order your very own hard copy of The Princes of Greenwood - due out in paperback form shortly after the Kindle version's release. More details about that to follow as we get closer to the date.

Lastly, summer is coming to an end. Sad, I know, but the signs are all there: the weather's changing, the holidays are drawing closer, school's back in session, and everything becomes Pumpkin Spice flavored. Welcome to the second of six "very important Fridays". 

Last Friday I announced a contest that will be running for the next few weeks, this Friday, I'm giving my readers something that I've long promised and have yet to release: a Calendar of Events for the series. Visit the page at your own risk, for though I've tried to keep the events as specifically vague as possible, there are (obviously) some spoilers included. So if you haven't read it, you might want to stay away from the page.

For now, the calendar only includes events from Book I so as not to give away Book II's secrets. Shortly after the release of THE PRINCES OF GREENWOOD, I'll be uploading an updated calendar that includes the events from Book II.

If you'd like to view it offline, all you have to do is right click on the Calendar and select "save as" and it's yours for the keeping.

Every Friday from here until September 23rd, 2016, I will be revealing something new for you all to enjoy, consider, and/or become excited about. And for the first of these half-dozen "very important Fridays", I'm announcing a 4 week contest.
